North Lindsey College are due to announce a list of subject specific virtual open events in the coming weeks, off the back of a successful cross College online open event at the end of May.
The popular Scunthorpe College hosted online event #VirtuallyHere, which gave new applicants the opportunity to tour the campus from the comfort of their own home.
Covering all curriculum areas, the College’s Marketing team led on the event which saw 100s of people register for the chance to view the facilities, hear from the College subject specialist tutors and learn more about the enrichment opportunities open to them when they start in September.
Head of Marketing Emma Turner said: “The #VirtuallyHere open event concept was something we decided would give students a chance to see their new tutors face-to-face online, as well as tour around the curriculum areas without having to leave home. It’s important to us as College during these difficult times that new and returning students feel comfortable and are ready to start their studies with us, a big part of that is keeping in touch with them and virtually opening our doors to welcome them in.”
Throughout June and July the public can register for forthcoming events through the College’s social media platforms and the College website, with new events due to be announced in the next few weeks.
“We are hosting online events for many of our partners too, such as Airco and CATCH both of which specialise in Engineering,” adds Emma. “These events will replicate the #VirtuallyHere experience we offered for the full campus open event at the end of May. You can expect to hear from the Engineering specialists delivering training, as well as hear about the programmes and apprenticeships you can take at Airco in Hull and CATCH in Stallingborough.”
The College anticipates that these events will be popular due to the mix of virtual tours, short insightful talks and Q&A. If you’re interested in learning more head to the College’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram where new dates will be released.
