Harold Osborne BEM

Meet our Governors

Harold worked for Corus for 27 years in the central engineering workshops. He is happily married to Ruby and has two grown up children (both of whom have their own businesses) and five grandchildren.

He has had many roles in the local community for many years: as a Town Councillor in Crowle (near Scunthorpe), Mayor of Crowle four times and a member of the former Boothferry Council.  He has also been a North Lincolnshire Councillor and Mayor, having responsibility as lead member for Schools and Young People, Youth Clubs, and Children’s Social Services.

Harold has been a governor at Crowle Primary School for 42 years and a governor of the Darley Centre, a referral unit for children of primary school age.  He also previously served as a member of the Hull University SINOD for four years.

In 2016 Harold was awarded the British Empire Medal by Her Majesty The Queen for services to the community.  He has met The Queen and Prince Philip on several occasions and has also met Princess Anne and the Countess of Wessex.
