College celebrates student success at their annual FE awards ceremony
North Lindsey College has hosted the annual FE awards ceremony to recognise students’ hard work and success in a glitzy event.
12 July 2022
The event has been held online for the last two years due to Covid, was held on campus for the first time in two years, with staff and students keen to celebrate in a full ceremony. The College awarded trophies to students, alongside nominated staff in line with their core values and cast a light on those who had shone over the past academic year.
The event welcomed inspirational guest speaker to the event, Helen Butters who was part of the oldest team to row across the Atlantic Ocean, winning a Guinness World record in the process.
Helen addressed each of the award winners on stage and said: “It was a great privilege to be to be part of the North Lindsey College FE Awards Ceremony 2022. Congratulations to all the students nominated and those who won awards. Enjoy celebrating your achievements! It’s clear that the College really does transform people’s lives and encourage self-belief. This reflected my message of saying yes to opportunities, believing in yourself and making things happen. If four mums can row across the Atlantic Ocean anyone can do anything you just need belief. I hope you all find your own oceans.”
The College’s Musical Theatre students opened the event with a taste of some of their more recent work from the musical ‘Newsies’.
Chardonnay Bonnett is a Musical Theatre student who performed at the event and also won the award for Ambition. Chardonnay said, “I felt that my hard work was recognised so I really appreciated it. It was also nice to perform at the start of the event and for the audience to see what we really do.”
