College Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week
National Apprenticeship Week is an annual celebration of apprenticeships enabling the whole apprenticeship community to celebrate together the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, employers and the economy.
The College arranged a variety of events through the week, which saw Olympic hero Eddie the Eagle Edwards showing his support at the College’s annual awards ceremony, celebrating the hard work of our future sector leaders. Over 160 people attended the event which with local employer support from British Steel, Ongo, North Lincolnshire Council, University Campus North Lincolnshire, Cristal Pigment UK Ltd, Lee Stafford Education, G S Kelsey Construction Ltd, HITEK Electronic Materials Ltd, Shift Traffic Events and the overall sponsor Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) were the main sponsor of the awards ceremony; having over 200 apprentices through North Lindsey College. Harriet Stephens (Head of Training, Education and Development at NLaG NHS Foundation Trust) stated, “We were delighted to be the main sponsors of the event and have a great working relationship with North Lindsey College who offer bespoke programmes to meet the needs of our health requirements.”
The College also held an Open Event for all potential apprentices who are interested in applying for an apprenticeship, with new vacancies arising continuously with 23 vacancies currently available in the area. The College also had a presence at the National Skills Humber event based at the Bonus Arena in Hull, which brought young people from the region face-to-face with employers, training providers, colleges and Universities to raise aspirations, motivate and inspire the next generation.
