Apprenticeships at the CATCH Academy are now IET approved
Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation apprenticeships at the CATCH Academy in Stallingborough have been recognised and approved by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).
05 March 2021
This is a scheme which recognises the engineering competencies, apprenticeship training programmes and apprenticeship standards provided by training organisations. Completing an apprenticeship with the CATCH Academy, part of North Lindsey College, now means that you can apply for professional registration (EngTech) with the Engineering Council. This is a status available for professional, competent technicians and engineers which is recognised throughout the UK and the world.
Bob Padley, Head of Engineering at the CATCH Academy said: “Approval of our apprenticeships by the IET is a brilliant achievement for the team at CATCH Academy. We have put a lot of effort into growing our provision at CATCH Academy and providing the highest quality of engineering training. This recognition by the IET is very welcome and will benefit every apprentice that studies here.”
An IET Approved Apprenticeship demonstrates the CATCH Academy’s commitment to development, progression and endorses the quality of the apprenticeship scheme against IET benchmarks. Apprentices can benefit from access to learning resources and professional accreditation of their skills.
The approval process involved an assessment by trained and experienced engineers who considered a range of evidence including roles undertaken by apprentices, how the scheme supports the wider business and mentoring and support available to apprentices.
IET Accreditation Manager, Dan Canty said: “The IET congratulates the CATCH Academy on being awarded approval status, which demonstrates that they maintain the highest standards of quality, content, technician support and assessment and continuously improve on those standards.”
