Mike is an experienced senior leader within the Education, Training and Skills Sector. A Music graduate and qualified teacher, he has worked in Schools, the Music Industry, Independent Training Providers and Further Education Colleges in senior roles since 1996. He has also worked as an Additional Inspector for OfSTED, served as a Board Member of Schools, an Adult Education Service in London and an FE College, as well as previously holding the role of Trustee for several charities and serving as an External Examiner to a University.
Mike has worked solely within disadvantaged communities across England and is driven by the Inclusion agenda. He specialises in Curriculum Innovation, Quality Improvement, Financial recovery, Organisational Change and People Development and believes that FE Colleges with innovative and high performing Apprenticeship and Higher Education provision, are best placed to allow individuals from diverse backgrounds the best possible opportunity to fulfil their potential.
In Summer 2022, Mike retired from his role as Principal of a local FE College, which included the role of Ambassador for the Humber Region and Chairing the Humber Principals’ Group, and is now Director of a consultancy, specialising in Mentoring & Coaching newly appointed FE College Principals and their senior teams, through often very challenging situations.
Mike is motivated to support the Board, wider Senior Team and staff at DN Colleges Group to fulfil their potential and destiny, to become a force for good and positive influence on behalf of the communities we serve and the wider region.
